Unclaimed money is money that belongs to someone but has been left behind in old bank accounts, insurance policies, refunds, share dividends and the like.

 

Many people don’t even know it exists.
In most cases, it doesn’t expire. By law, it must be held until the rightful owner claims it.


Unclaimed funds usually exist for simple reasons: people move, change names, lose paperwork or forget old accounts. Life moves on, money doesn’t always follow.
